The improvised style of belly dance we teach is American Tribal Style (ATS®). It is based on a vocabulary of movements and cues, relying on communication and interaction between the dancers.
We aim to cover a variety of moves each term, as well as experimenting with creative ways to use the moves and to dance together. We have stuctured the class so ensure that each person can work at their own level to develop their dancing. Each lesson we focus on one or two moves in detail and give you the choice to follow and drill the moves or if confident with the moves to push the boundaries and experiment with new ways of using them. The second part of the lesson focusses on dancing together and developing the connection and non verbal communcation between dancers, and putting it all into practice.

The focus is on dancing together as a group moving like a 'flock of birds' connecting with other dancers. Everyone is important within the group. It takes each person's strengths and contributions to the group to completed it. Class details
